About Harmony Farm
Harmony Farm is the culmination of a dream…
..To work closely with the land and to help people live better lives through eating better. The farm was founded by Sky Harman, an experienced farmer and native West Virginian. He believes that food is not only essential to our physical well-being, but central to our growth as individuals and a culture. He believes that through farming we can be more closely connected with the earth and learn to appreciate the great gifts it has to offer. It can also unite people around an issue that we can all agree with, one that can ultimately can heal our bodies, our hearts, and our communities.
Harmony Farm is located at Ridgeway Farm in the Cheat Lake area of Morgantown, West Virginia. We moved our operation there 2 years ago and have grown more and more ever since with the generous support of the late Pat Keith, Jean Meade, and the non-profit Human-Animal Bond. We are greatly excited by this partnership and by the opportunity to share in the transition between generations of farmers in West Virginia. We see this as an opportunity to transfer not only the knowledge and wisdom of working the land, but also in the joy of sharing good food with good people.
Sky was born to Tom and Patsy Harman, hippies who moved to Spencer, West Virginia to live closely with the land and help increase social consciousness in their adopted state. While their time as homesteaders ended, their dream of contributing to the betterment of West Virginia and its people did not. They have dedicated themselves to providing quality affordable healthcare to the people of the Morgantown, WV area for over 20 years. You can find their practice online at Partner’s in Women’s HealthCare.
Sky’s own road has had many twists and turns, which has eventually led him back to his beloved mountains. While farming can be challenging, he is always thrilled by the opportunity to feed people the highest quality, freshest, most exciting food that you can eat.
