Harmony Farm’s CSA
CSA is community supported agriculture.
What this means is that you can help to support a farm and the farmers directly and in return share in the harvest.
The benefits of this relationship are many- you receive fresh, nutritious and locally grown produce and the farmer receives a fair return for the food that they grow.
In addition to having access to the freshest and healthiest food that money can buy, members of the CSA will have the opportunity to know where their food comes from, and who grows it and learn about exciting vegetables that you have never tried before.

How the CSA Works:
The veggies that you will receive in return for your investment will be enough to provide for the majority of your fresh produce needs and will include your favorites such as sugar snap peas, tomatoes, zuchinni, cucumbers, salad mix, spinach and kale, as well as some great vegetables that you might not have tried like brussells sprouts, turnips, kohlrabi, and napa cabbage. You can find out more about what will be grown and when it will be ready for harvest during the growing season by taking a look at the seasonality chart. Additional produce that you can purchase on your pickup days by ordering ahead, in case you have a party or special event where you need more produce than would be regularly available.
Full season –
A CSA share will entitle you to 20 weeks of vegetables worth over $500 at a cost of $25.00 dollars per week, made in 2 payments totaling $500 for the season.
Each week you will receive a generous share of produce which reflects what can be grown in the given season. In spring your share will consist of fast growing roots- like radish, turnips, beets, and carrots as well as tender greens like chard, kale, and mustards, as well as exciting baby leaf salad mixes, and head lettuces. Weekly summer
shares will consist of sunripe tomatoes, summer squash and zuchinni, melons, herbs, beans, and more. Fall vegetables will include storage crops like potatoes, onions, carrots, cabbage, as well as the most flavorful greens and heading vegetables than you have ever eaten! Quantities of produce have been designed, using sucessful CSA farm plans as a guide. We believe that these numbers should reflect generous quantities of vegetables, while not completely overwhelming you with an abundance that you just canÂ’t handle. The shares are a reflection of the value of the food grown and sold at your local farmers market, but at the same time giving you a good deal on your investment, as well as providing you with items that are not available to our Farmer’s market customers.
$500 for 20 weeks of produce beginning in early June and ending in mid October, $200 deposit is due at signup, and the remainder ($300) is due by May 12th. Please note that if you are under financial hardship, but want to participate in the CSA, please contact us and we will try to work with you.
This Year we will be providing a market style CSA pickup at the Bridgeport, Cheat Lake, and Ruby Memorial Hospital Farmer’s markets(pending approval).
There will be a number of pickup options for CSA members- in Cheat Lake at the farm, Downtown Morgantown, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Fairmont, and Bridgeport.
Splitting Shares options-
If you don’t feel like you can eat all of the veggies from a full CSA share, split your share with a friend! If you canÂ’t find someone who wants to split a share, please feel free to contact us to see if anyone else might want to split a share with you.
